The process of finding mentors is tedious and can be overwhelming to pick the right ones.
Mentees often reach out to experienced individuals on social networking platforms but rarely receive a positive response or any useful information.

I created personas for both mentors and mentees. Two groups of users were identified for mentees.
One primary user group identified were college students or fresh college graduates looking for a part-time or full time job to start their career. The other group identified was people who have some work experience, but are looking to change their career paths. The mentor personas were divided based on the same features as mentees.
The personas helped me arrive at better solutions as it gave an in-depth understanding of the user goals and frustrations and the overall personality.

Mapping the user’s journey helped me understand what processes the users usually follow and this helped me find some improvement opportunities to make the user experience better. I created user journeys separately for both mentors and menters.

I interviewed 3 potential users for mentees and 2 potential users for mentors. I also conducted a quantitative research using an online survey for 65 potential users, both male and female in the age group of 18 - 40.

This project was a bit challenging as I had to think from the mentee's side as well as the mentor's side. But, it was absolutely delightful to work on.
I learnt how important research is to understand the problem better. The research phase helped me broaden my understanding of the problem. One of the constraints was having limited people for the survey.
